Pickup trucks remain one of the most popular styles of vehicle on the streets of Manteca, CA, and beyond, and it's easy to see why. Perfect for adventures or work, trucks are versatile and capable. At Phil Waterford's Manteca Ford & High Line, we appreciate the many winning qualities of a great pickup as much as our customers do, and we're proud to be the local destination for some of the best trucks on the market today – the Ford pickup truck line in our new vehicle inventory.
The Ford family of pickup trucks offers a range of models in various sizes and capabilities, with something for everyone in the collection. When you need a truck that's slightly larger than the compact Ford Maverick, but smaller than the half-ton Ford F-150, the Ford Ranger is the perfect fit.
The 2024 Ford Ranger
2024 is more than just a new model year for this beloved truck. It also launches the model's fifth generation, and it gives us a handful of exciting updates. Our customers will appreciate many of these changes, which range from performance to features. Highlights include:
- More tech features are standard and available across the Ranger lineup
- For the first time ever, the Ford Ranger adds a Raptor trim level to its lineup
- A new engine option has been added to the list of available powertrains – a 2.7-liter V6 with 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque
- The Ford Ranger overall length and the wheelbase are both about two inches larger than in the previous generation
Ford Ranger vs. Chevy Colorado
As you can see, there's a lot to know and appreciate about the newest Ford Ranger pickups. But while this truck would be a great investment for any driver, we also know that it's not the only one in its class to offer mid-sized design and class. To illustrate why we think you should consider it over competing models, read on to learn more about how it compares next to the Chevy Colorado truck.
- Utility. While both of these pickup trucks can tow and haul around the same amount, around 7,500 pounds, the new Ford Ranger comes with cutting-edge technology that makes every tow job easier than ever. This impressive feature allows you to program up to 10 trailers in the system for the truck to remember, and it helps the vehicle automatically adjust the blind-spot monitor and warning system to the length of the trailer.
- Personalization options. Ford knows that drivers like options, and the new Ford Ranger delivers. Drivers get to pick from different trim levels, different engines, and two cab styles – either an extended double cab or a four-door crew cab. The extended cab version comes paired to a 6-foot bed, while the crew cab gets a slightly shorter, 5-foot bed. The Chevy Colorado, on the other hand, doesn't offer the same level of customization options. That truck is strictly available as a crew cab model with a short bed, and no other options available.
- Interior space and comfort. Regardless of whether you pick a Ranger extended cab or a crew cab, you'll also be more comfortable and have more room to stretch out in with the Ford truck than the Chevy. Not only does the Colorado only have one cab available, but that one cab is also smaller than the Ranger, with less headroom for you and your passengers.
