After 13 Generations, the Ford F-150 Continues to Dominate the Competition

More than 45 years after it first debuted, the Ford F-150 pickup truck continues to dominate its field and show other, similarly sized trucks what it really means to be a pickup that drivers can count on. Selecting your perfect fit for adventures and commutes here in the Manteca and Tracy area comes down to the level of power and features you want on your pickup.

While the 2020 F-150 is still going strong, well into its 13th outstanding generation, we know there are other pickups available on the market today that are also vying for drivers' attention. To help you understand exactly what makes the legendary F-150 the best option for your California drives, we've compared it to several competing models, and highlighted some of the ways the F-150 outshines them all.

The Ford F-150 vs. the Ram 1500

With its six powerful engines, the Ford F-150 presents drivers with a broader menu of options than the Ram 1500, which only gives you three engines to choose from. Not only does it deliver more power and more range, it also gives you more interior space than the Ram 1500. Regardless of whether you choose the four-door crew cab, the two-door regular cab, or the extended cab, the interior of the Ford F-150 has more headroom and more legroom to stretch out in, especially in the front seat.

The Ford F-150 vs. the Chevy Silverado 1500

As with the Ram 1500 comparison, the F-150 also has more engine options for you to customize your pickup with than the Silverado 1500. Plus, it has a great range of miles per fill up, depending on which engine you choose. For example, the F-150 base engine goes 468 miles in the city and 598 miles on the highway per fill up, while the Silverado 1500 can go just 456 miles in the city and 528 miles on the highway per tank of gas. Inside, the F-150 gives you more elbow room and shoulder room in both the front and backseats than the Chevy.

The Ford F-150 vs. the Toyota Tundra

When it comes to options for power and features, the F-150 is clearly the more robust option over the Toyota Tundra. There's just one engine for the entire Tundra lineup, with no alternatives for power and no diesel-powered system. Plus, the Ford truck has more trim levels you can choose from, and the F-150 is the larger and more comfortable of the two pickups. The Ford F-150 is longer and wider than the Tundra, with more interior space for passengers. As an added bonus, the Tundra crew cab only has a five-passenger capacity, while the Ford crew cab can seat up to six people.

The Ford F-150 vs. the Nissan Titan

As with the Toyota comparison before this, the Ford F-150 also delivers more options and choice to drivers than the Nissan Titan. There's just one engine available for the Nissan model, and fewer trim levels. The Ford also earns a better EPA efficiency rating than the Nissan, with an estimated 20 mpg combined for the entry-level F-150 engine and 18 mpg combined for the Titan's sole engine. Finally, the interior of the F-150 is more spacious and comfortable than the Nissan, with more headroom, legroom, and shoulder room standard for the Ford.
